4 established travel bloggers share their experiences

Image
This post shares experiences of four established travel bloggers. especially during and after Covid 19 pandemic. As one would expect, Covid 19 has disrupted travel bloggers’ routine badly. At the same time, this has given them an opportunity to do maintenance, reflect on their blogging journey and innovate so as to adjust to the new reality.  Indrani Ghose, of i Share says the pandemic slowed her down but it threw up a wonderful opportunity to connect with nature.  “I have indulged in bird photography and clicked several hundreds of pictures of different birds. This has kept my Insta feed live with fresh pictures. I have also contributed articles to newspapers. This period of lockdown gave me the opportunity to look back into my old posts, update and repost them and I am really glad about it,” Indrani shares. Ami Bhat, who runs Thrilling Travel blog, says, “After a very eventful year in 2019, 2020 turned out to be a complete wash-out. The numerous plans and advance bookings ...

Top Indian male fashion bloggers

Image
Fashion blogging is one of the most visible niches in blogging. It is dominated by ladies, but there are some prominent male lifestyle bloggers too. In India, fashion blogging by/ for males came a bit late and we don't have many blogs devoted to male fashion. I showcase here two top male fashion bloggers from India. Each of them excels in fashion and - as is the basic principle of success in blogging of any type - they are passionate about fashion. Purushu Arie Purushu Arie is a fashion designer, illustrator, stylist and fashion blogger since 2009 and "founder of India's first gender-neutral label". He is a strong votary of neutrality of gender, age, race, appearance and other cultural differences. On the blog, Purushu not only talks of contemporary Indian and global fashion, he talks of history of fashion and cultural influences on fashion (and vice versa ). As he claims, his posts also cover gender neutrality in fashion. bowties and bones This lifestyle...

How simple blogs can promote social cause effectively!

Image
Let's have a look at these two blogs and see how success in blogging need not be just for making money and how we can use the free blogging tools for making a little contribution to the society we live in. Well, this little post is not on how to become a social entrepreneur or a social activist. It is for illustrating that blogging for a cause need not cost money and that it can be used for supporting society in small ways without spending energy on design, SEO etc.  These blogs are small in resource use but are big in resources. Both of them are on the free Blogger platform and no effort had been made to even customize the basic theme. Yet, these blogs are contributing their might behind the bloggers towards achieving their goals.  Anaarkali - The saga of Bhil Adivasi Indigenous People http://anar-kali.blogspot.in/ Rahul Banerjee mostly chronicles the saga of tribal populations though he sometimes digresses to areas not related with it, on this Blogger blog. Introducing a reference book on all things blogging

Image
You cannot avoid mention of this book when you are talking about blogging in 2020. The Manual is perhaps the first and only such work on blogging - dealing exhaustively with all aspects of blogging: history, concepts, legalities, tips and what not. The book has been written by Manoj Pandey, an Indian media personality and social media watcher. This is the second edition of the book. Mr Pandey has written another book, The Manual of Social Media, with similar treatment to the topic. He maintains a blog, SocialLogging , in which he carries information and advice on social media, particularly blogging. The term sociallogging seems to have been coined by him. Produced below is the book blurb. The Manual of Blogging is a treatise on blogging - the online activity that now encompasses the entire social media and is growing in newer forms year after year.        Though even writing small posts on micro-blogging sites and putting videos on video-sharing s...

3 top blogs by expatriates in India

Image
When you live in a country other than where you spent your young age, you observe everything with a curious mind. It leads to great human discoveries. When you share them with others, in person, those many people know about that country from a new perspective. When you run a blog or website where you share your insights, that becomes an invaluable resource. I share below three beautiful and resourceful blogs by expatriates in India. Indians as well as outsiders would find their worldview interesting. 1 The White Hindu is Ambaa's blog, in existence since 2012. In the last six years, she has written in her blog on Indian culture and society, and Hindu religion and philosophy. The blog is part of Patheos portal, which is devoted to religion and spirituality.  Ambaa describes herself and the blog thus: An American woman of European ancestry who practices Hinduism. She has been involved in Indian philosophy since 1982 and Indian culture since 2004. She loves to learn about...

I am a wandering soul. Writing poetry, stories and travelogues gives me peace and joy. I present the way I see and feel... - राकेश कुमार श्रीवास्तव
